Dear Mother

Dear Mother

Death is before us,
we see it in our eyes
the injustice we feel,
the fear we fear,
stands ahead of us.

Those behind us call us forward
with one scream in hundreds of voices marching on the path of death.
Look ahead and remember
what you are leaving behind
I look at you mother
I hear you calling me forward.

A flash blinds me,
the pain I see I don't feel,
the agony that eats me up,
the help that is not coming
last chance for salvation,
one bullet to end it all.

A race to death,
who will arrive first,
you who offer me death as a mercy
or a pool of blood in which I lie,
last words on my lips,
dear mother,
And I'm finally coming.
