Kindness is a contagious chain

And above all I am trying to be as kind as the universe,
who gives me another chance everyday.
So when the 18 year old biker makes a sharp turn,
I don't curse him out - he is just gotten the vehicle,
maybe he did not mean to be careless.
When someone cuts me off in a conversation,
I still listen because attention is a gift everyone deserves.
And when after years of hurt, my heart goes soft again, I decide to forgive those who made it skeptical,
For every person I am kind to,
There was a person who was kind to me first,
Don't get me wrong,
Kindness is not a transaction,
But it is definitely a contagious chain;
A chain that I am not selfish enough to break,
A chain that I am grateful enough to continue.
