Letter From My Reflection

Letter From My Reflection

They cut your wings before you could fly.
They took every piece of you,
yet still called you selfish when you tried to keep your bones.

Forsaking the fountain of your hopes,
you lost yourself before you even knew who you were.
Everyday was a battle against life —
a war lost before it even began.

Broken and alone,
you believed death to be a kinder fate,
than this misery called life.

You could've been lost —
but you chose to hold on.
Even without knowing why, you clung.

It is hard, I will not lie.
And it isn't easier now — not really.
But it's different, because you've learnt to not let the waves pull you under.

Now you know that the world is a cruel, untrustworthy charade —
A circus only a fool would attend without a mask.

Keep holding on,
even when it feels it's of no use.
Always listen when your soul calls.

Because at the end of it all —
the circus must go on,
and yours is the final act.
