The Girl No one Clapped For
She tried again and again, hoping someone would notice. But no one clapped, no one stayed. She didn’t want awards or praise, only love and a quiet “well done.” Slowly, she learned to stay silent—not because she was weak, but because being unseen hurts more than being alone
She was a girl who was always present, yet never truly seen.
She tried her best in everything she did, but appreciation never came her way. No matter how much effort she put in, it was never enough for anyone. She didn’t even get what she truly wanted from life—just a little love, a little recognition.
Once, she made a video call for the first time in her life. She kept repeating, “FaceTime, FaceTime,” with a small smile on her face. It was not about the call itself. It was an achievement for her. She wanted happiness in their eyes, pride in their voices. But one careless word from a friend hit her heart deeply. Later, her grandmother said something that stayed with her forever: “She doesn’t want rewards. She only wants love from her family. She only wants to hear ‘well done’ from them.”
But that praise never came.
There were many moments like this—moments that slowly stopped her. Her confidence faded. She was no longer the girl who participated in everything. Not because she wanted to be first, but because she loved trying. Life slowly changed her.
She had no dreams of her own at first. Her family decided her dreams for her. They told her what she would become when she grew up, and she quietly agreed, thinking life must be that simple. She didn’t know how heavy life could be.
She had one friend since childhood—a friend of thirteen years. And then, in a single moment, she lost that friendship. Just like that, everything ended. The world suddenly felt strange. She talked a lot, yet felt unheard. Somewhere in her heart, feelings grew that she didn’t even understand herself. There was a softness in her eyes, a kind of love she didn’t see in others. But even that was taken away. That person was always distant.
When people returned and looked at her life, they finally realized she was human too—not made of stone. But by then, it was too late.
Her nights were filled with tears. She questioned her family but never got answers. She punished herself with silence. She felt pain, alone. No one noticed.
Slowly, she understood something painful: the dreams she had carried since childhood would never come true. She was forced to become someone she never wanted to be.
One day, in a small room, her life was decided for her. She was made to sit in front of everyone. They told her, “Stay quiet. Do what we want.”
She didn’t argue.
She didn’t cry.
She didn’t say a single word.
She just stood up… and walked away.
She didn’t disappear from the world—she disappeared from their expectations.
For the first time, she chose herself.
She left quietly, carrying pain in her heart, but also a small courage she didn’t know she had. She didn’t know where life would take her, but she knew one thing: she would no longer beg to be seen.
And maybe, one day, someone would clap for her.
But even if they didn’t—
she would finally learn to clap for herself.
