Wishes, Prayers, Dreams of Love

Wishes, Prayers, Dreams of Love

I hide wishes under my pillow,

Wishes with your name on them,

Prayers I secretly hope would find you,

And whisper all my dreams in your ear slowly,

So that you know, I never want you to leave.

Careful confessions while looking at you through my lashes,

Hiding from truths I never dared to accept myself,

Bared for you to judge.

Fingers reaching out to read the lines on your palms,

Like vows spoken with clasped hands,

Knees resting on the ground,

At the complete mercy of what we created.

A religion meant just for us,

Where the commandments are written in your eyes,

And the only one is to worship this love.
